Calendar Pro vs Full Calendar Remastered: drag Markdown tasks onto an Obsidian calendar
The tasks are already Markdown. You want them on a calendar. Full Calendar Remastered and Calendar Pro can both do that drag. This page picks a primary scheduler. It does not ask you to uninstall the other plugin.
Feature docs stay at Calendar Pro, Calendar, and Task view. CalDAV steps stay at Calendar subscription. The path choice is in iCloud and Google CalDAV.
One-line verdict
- You want note events, ICS, CalDAV, Google, and Tasks in one FullCalendar: start with Full Calendar Remastered.
- You want kanban, Eisenhower, and a timeline over the same Markdown task pool, next to LifeOS: look at Calendar Pro, or LifeOS Pro, which already includes calendar planning.
- Tasks stay in notes on both paths. Neither story is "only one plugin can drag" or "tasks move into a locked cloud database."
- You can install both. Keep one primary scheduling surface so the same checkbox is not written twice.
- LifeOS Pro, standalone Calendar Pro, and DeepAsk are separate licenses. LifeOS Pro already includes the calendar, so you usually do not also buy Calendar Pro.
What job are you hiring the calendar for?
Drag an existing Tasks backlog onto time blocks
Full Calendar Remastered's Task Backlog takes Obsidian Tasks (or TaskNotes) items and drops them on a day or time slot. The write-back uses Tasks date and time syntax.
Kanban, Eisenhower, or a Gantt-style timeline
Calendar Pro's task workspace aggregates open tasks from journals and project notes, then switches List, Board, Timeline, Schedule, and Eisenhower. The board groups by status, due date, priority, or tag. See Task view.
Tasks must remain in the original note
Checking a Calendar Pro task flips - [ ] to - [x]. Notes under the task are indented bullets in the source Markdown. Full Calendar Remastered writes back through the Tasks format. Remote CalDAV and Google events are a separate layer.
Many calendar sources in one grid
Full Calendar Remastered documents Full Note, Daily Note, ICS, CalDAV, Google Calendar, Tasks, TaskNotes, ActivityWatch, and CalDAV Tasks. Calendar Pro is task-first, with two-way iCloud and Google plus one-way ICS. If source aggregation is the job, stay with Full Calendar Remastered.
What Full Calendar Remastered is
It is a community plugin on FullCalendar: many event sources plus a task backlog, in day, week, and month views. Install it from the community directory, BRAT, or a manual copy. License text lives in the repository. The Tasks backlog needs that task source enabled. Its center is not an Eisenhower or kanban workspace. That is not the same as "no task UI."
What Calendar Pro is
Calendar Pro is a paid Obsidian plugin. It also ships inside LifeOS Pro. The workspace gathers unfinished Markdown tasks and leaves them in the original files. Drag from the pool onto a month cell or a time slot.
Checked 2026-10-14: $29.90 lifetime for 5 devices on the English pricing page, and ¥109 lifetime for 5 devices on the Chinese pricing page. The shelf entry is shop.lifeos.md.
Comparison
Decision
- Dragging the Tasks plugin onto time blocks is enough: Full Calendar Remastered may already fit.
- You want board, Eisenhower, or timeline on one pool: Calendar Pro.
- Tasks must stay in the note: both can write Markdown. Compare the workspace, not a lock-in story.
- You want Google, CalDAV, ICS, and note events together: Full Calendar Remastered's source list is the broader one.
- You use LifeOS or plan to buy LifeOS Pro: calendar planning is included. Skip a second Calendar Pro purchase.
- You want the calendar without PARA and periodic notes: buy Calendar Pro alone.
- Phone reminders via iCloud or Google: both document remote calendars. Feishu on Calendar Pro is read-only, not a two-way push. Steps: Calendar subscription.
View details are in Eisenhower, kanban, and timeline. CalDAV setup is in iCloud and Google Calendar.

- Full Calendar Remastered has no CalDAV or Google support. Its sources docs list them.
- LifeOS Pro still requires Calendar Pro. The purchase page says it does not.
- Calendar Pro includes LifeOS Pro or DeepAsk. It does not.
- Feishu CalDAV is two-way. Calendar Pro documents it as read-only.
FAQ
Is Calendar Pro a drop-in replacement?
No. Both schedule work in Obsidian. The center of the product is different. Pick a primary surface.
Can I drag tasks with both?
Yes. The source and the write-back syntax differ. See the table.
Where do tasks live?
In vault Markdown. Remote calendar events are separate.
Who has kanban, Eisenhower, and timeline?
Calendar Pro's task workspace. Full Calendar Remastered centers FullCalendar views and a backlog.
Do I need the Tasks plugin?
You need it for the Full Calendar Remastered Tasks backlog. Calendar Pro does not treat it as the only prerequisite.
Who syncs CalDAV, iCloud, and Google?
Both document remote calendars. Limits follow each project's pages. Feishu is read-only on Calendar Pro.
Do I need LifeOS Pro to use Calendar Pro?
No. Calendar Pro is sold alone. If you buy LifeOS Pro, you usually do not also buy Calendar Pro.
What is missing from free LifeOS?
The community edition can record tasks in Markdown. The unfinished-task workspace and calendar scheduling are Calendar Pro or LifeOS Pro. See Free vs Pro.
Next steps
If the Tasks backlog is enough, stay with Full Calendar Remastered and open Getting Started.
If you want the workspace, open Calendar Pro pricing or LifeOS Pro pricing. After activation, open the big calendar, drag one task onto this week, then switch to the board or Eisenhower view.
